About Us

Bramblewood Bend is our family's little corner of Ohio, named for the bend in Nimishillen Creek that winds through our wooded property. Surrounded by trees, wild blackberry brambles, gardens, and plenty of everyday chaos, it's the place where our soaps, salves, balms, and ideas come to life.

It all started with the blackberries.

What began as picking wild berries along the creek and turning them into jelly slowly grew into something more. We planted a garden, started paying closer attention to what was already growing around us, and fell in love with finding simple, useful ways to work with the ingredients nature had put right outside our door.

At the same time, we were searching for gentler products for our own family's sensitive skin. That search eventually led us to traditional soapmaking and, before long, our kitchen was filled with tallow, goat milk, herbs, oils, and more experiments than we'd probably like to admit.

Those two paths became Bramblewood Bend.

Today, we make handcrafted soaps, salves, balms, and body care in small batches, choosing ingredients thoughtfully and making things slowly. We believe everyday products can be simple, beautiful, and made with intention, and we make each one with the same care we want for the things used in our own home.

Why Tallow?

Tallow is at the heart of nearly everything we make. It's a traditional fat that's remarkably close in structure to the oils our own skin already produces, so it absorbs easily and leaves skin feeling nourished, not greasy. It's rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, and using it is our way of putting the whole animal to good, intentional use rather than letting anything go to waste.

What We Make

  • Signature Soap — our everyday tallow and goat milk bars, scented with essential oils only
  • Ink & Ivory — unscented tallow tattoo aftercare, for fresh ink and years of upkeep after
  • Wildcrafted Remedies — herbal balms made with the plants we found growing right on our property
  • Bramble Basin — refillable solid dish soap, made to replace one more plastic bottle

Take a look around — we hope you find something that feels like it belongs in yours too.
