FAQ
How long does your soap last?
Unopened, our soap has essentially no expiration — it's shelf-stable and will keep well however long you need it to. Once you start using a bar, proper care (keeping it dry and draining between uses) gets you about a month of regular use.
What's in your soap?
Our bars are built from real, simple ingredients: olive oil, castor oil, coconut oil, tallow, shea butter, lard (in some bars), lye, and goat milk, along with herbal infusions and essential or fragrance oils depending on the line. Our tallow is locally sourced and hand-rendered right here on our property. We don't use micas or synthetic dyes — any color you see comes from clays, herbs, or other natural ingredients.
Each product page lists its specific ingredients, and our collection pages explain whether a line is essential-oil-only, fragrance-oil based, or unscented.
Are your products tested on animals?
Never. We're a small, handmade, homemade business — every bar is made and tested by our own family before it ever reaches you.
Do you take custom or wholesale orders?
Yes! We're happy to discuss custom batches (like wedding favors) and wholesale accounts. Please reach out through our Contact page to start the conversation. Custom and wholesale lead times run a minimum of 10 weeks, so the earlier you reach out, the better.
How do I try a new soap safely?
We recommend patch testing or washing your hands with a new bar first before using it more broadly, especially if you have sensitive skin or known sensitivities to any botanical ingredients.
How do I make my soap last longer?
The biggest thing: let your soap drain and dry between uses. A bar that sits in standing water or under a constant drip will break down much faster than one that's allowed to dry out. A simple soap dish, our Soap Care Kit, or a sisal Soap Saver Bag all help with this.
What's the difference between essential oils and fragrance oils?
Some of our lines (like Signature, StarFall, and Dragonbond) are scented using essential oils only — no synthetic fragrance. Others (like Local Favorites) use fragrance oils to achieve scents essential oils can't replicate, like bakery or dessert notes. Each collection page tells you which is which, and product pages list the specific scent profile.
